It's 2035. What is a bitcoin worth? Best case and worst case. (xposted to /r/Bitcoin)

So, two possibilities. Never mind how likely they are. I'd like an answer for both.
It's 2035, and Bitcoin is wildly successful. Normal people use Bitcoin to pay for gas and coffee on a daily basis. Grandma still doesn't know what a Bitcoin is, but she uses it to send bonus birds to her grandkids who are playing Angry Birds 17 "Look, We Made Another Sequel" because it's the system that underpins the latest Pay-To-Win games. You still can't pay your taxes in BTC, but H&R Block is happy to buy your tax refund, and pay it to you in Bitcoin. Or you can pay them in Bitcoin, and they will pay the government what you own in fiat, on your behalf.
What would 1 Bitcoin be worth?
And:
It's 2035, and the old greybearded geeks who have actually heard (and still remember) what Bitcoin is have just finished celebrating the 19th anniversary of the Great Bitcoin Bug of 2016. Some hacker figured out a bug in the protocol and was able to exploit it, and essentially steal any coin he wanted, from any address he wanted. The hacker immediately set about moving Bitcoins between various random addresses. Hundreds of thousands of Bitcoins were moved. It took the devs a week to identify the issue, code a fix and persuade the miners to roll back the blockchain to immediately before the attack started. Bitcoin was as strong as ever, but confidence was shattered. Blockchain technology is still used in some niche areas, but cryptocurrency in general and Bitcoin in particular never recovered. Within a year, all running exchanges shuttered due to lack of use, and within 5 even the darknet markets had moved on to some other form of exchanging value. A few die-hards still run their ASICs, mostly to help heat their homes.

"So what is a bitcoin worth now" 1 bit is worth.... actually I have no idea!

I can tell people what a bitcoin's current exchange rate is, cue the "oh wow thats expensive" response
but I would like to start quoting the bit exchange rate. Now I know it is a factor of 10 or like 1/one millionth of a bitcoin, but that isn't exactly a conversion I think of when talking.
I need an entire pricing ecosystem using "bits", not mbits, or nano/u bits or satoshis
For me, this means Bitcoinwisdom should be displaying everything in bits, by default. This means Winkdex should be displaying everything in bits by default. Circle, Coinbase, /Bitcoinmarkets tracker , Hivewallet and Breadwallet....
then I'll get used to noticing it and it'll be more a part of the lexicon

What do you think the long term future of bitcoin is? Is it worth stacking small amounts over time as a type of "doomsday insurance"?

I'm thinking of taking a little bit out of each paycheck to stack coin over the next year or so, and then putting it all on a hardware wallet in my safe (once I have an amount large enough that it becomes reasonable to invest in a hardware wallet). After seeing things like 2008 and the ongoing pandemic, I've developed this weird paranoia that something catastrophic will happen to the world economy, and that crypto (maybe even precious metals) will replace most economies. I mean obviously nobody here has a working crystal ball, but what do you think the future of bitcoin, and crypto in general, is? Do you see it as something that could replace economies completely, or something that will stay largely used for investing and anonymous transactions? Does my paranoia seem too far fetched, or should I consider investing in btc for this scenario? Sorry if this sounds like some weird conspiracy theory type shit, I've just had this on my mind for a while and wanted to hear other peoples opinions on it. Thanks!

So a Whale (A huge Bitcoin holder) transferred 1,900 BTC worth 17,234,421 USD from its wallet to Okex and then some 3 hours later re-acquired 1,901 BTC worth 16,904,758 USD for a total gain of 329,663 USD. Is that what just happened?

...Please tell me I am right.

Hello! I have questions as a new trader. First, I understand blue is profit and red is loss. My question is, how does everything get calculated in? I put in $100 USD worth of bitcoin and have been confused. How does it transfer in terms of these values. Has money been lost? Gained? What percent?

People bought #bitcoin because they thought it would be worth more tomorrow. And a lot of people got lucky. But we're not seeing real people use bitcoin. And we don't know what problem it solves. Now, #blockchain , I think, is a genius advancement in #technology.

Calculating Bitcoin profit

Hello, I was having trouble understanding how to calculate bitcoin profit/loss. Can someone help a dummy like me?
I own about 308$ of bitcoin right now (.03556581 BTC)
I originally bought it for 500$ in the past.
Anyway if my 308$ worth of bitcoin when bitcoing is at $8627.29, what is my bitcoin worth if it went up to let's say somehow a million!

It’s 2028 and 1 Bitcoin is worth 1 million US dollars. If a luxury home was worth 1 million US dollars back in 2019, what would you estimate that this same luxury home is worth in USD and in BTC now? Does hyperbitcoinization require hyperinflation of government currencies and real estate?

Sold off about $100 worth of bitcoin on Coinbase to survive for the week and it’s taking a whole week for the funds to go into my chase account lol. I can only imagine what will happen when the price goes even higher. Is a ledger nano s recommend over shitbase(Coinbase)?

"The reason why millions of dollars were spent to attack & defend Bitcoin Cash BCH is because it’s something truly worth fighting over. It’s sound money. It’s permissionless. It’s what Satoshi Nakamoto wrote about in 2008. It’s Bitcoin, a Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System."
