$CAN ( Canaan ) 2nd biggest manufacture of bitcoin mining hardware. It’s been plummeting since May 13th. IPO 2019. Most of the loss is Covid caused and it might be on the rebound.

This ticker started trading last year and has been on a slippery downward trend. Its first day it closed at $8.99
On May 14th the price dropped to $5.99 then to $1.95 as of today.
The majority of losses are Covid caused and could bounce back. There’s definitely a risk associated because this could keep dropping, no guarantees without a proper catalyst lined up.

This mornings large order that caught my attention
1 month & 3 month downward spiral
This is what I was most intrigued by. Triple Doji (Bullish Dragonfly). This could indicate the bottom and a turn into a upward trend.
I’ve read mixed reviews on the current state of Bitcoin. For the small farmer, it’s a tough time. For the large corporate companies, business might be booming. Any input on this is appreciated.
I have a position at $1.92 and intending to hold over the weekend and then reevaluate on Monday.
Good luck! 🍻

"Bitcoin is mined using a single manufacturer's hardware, traded using a single stable coin, maintained by a single dev team. Its only smidgeon of decentralisation is Twitter, where an army of assclown bagholders never manages to get its message straight &ends up abusing everyone."

If it's profitable to mine at 10k for 12.5 BTC, it should also be profitable to mine at 20k for 6.25 BTC (2020). The next 4 years if bitcoin grows to 40k, mining from 2024 on for just 3.125 BTC should still be profitable. Given trxs fees and price for hardware, energy, infrastructure stay as is.

Trying to calculate bitcoin mining profitability but im not getting it right. How can i do it with these hardware specs?

PC specs:
nvidia geforce 830m
intel core i7-5500U CPU 2.40GHz
*No costs with energy
I tried to calculate on online tools but i must be doing something wrong because all of them are giving me wrong values (there are some fields that i dont know their meaning like Hashing Power, Polling Fee, Bitcoin Difficulty, Hash Rate, Block Reward, etc... )

Bit-earnings INVESTMENT COMPANY: While skilled developers have proven that it is possible to mine cryptocurrency using ultra-old hardware, this shouldn’t be considered a good mining strategy. However, if you are a technical wizard who enjoys challenging projects and retro electronics, this can be a cool hobby to start. If you’re only focused on mining as a business, you should consider newer rigs first.
Regardless of whether you decide to pick up mining as a hobby or not, the results of Shirriff’s work are fascinating, to say the least. From his efforts, we can see that Moore’s Law is actually an understatement on the ability of computers chips to improve over time.
What’s the difference in computing power between retrofitted rigs and new mining gear? Although blockchain expert solutions see that it might be possible to improve on the mining capabilities of his own retrofitted mining rigs, there is no denying that there is a tremendously large gap in performance compared to newer rigs. For instance, Xerox Alto only reaches 1.5 hashes per second. Meanwhile, ASIC mining rigs can reach trillions of hashes per second, making them the clear front-runner for BTC mining. Bitcryptoearnings investment has been mining with ASIC miner. Invest with bit-earnings and get put a stop to financial problems. [link]1
